Cua Lo affirms its beach tourism destination
(Baonghean) - Cua Lo is developing strongly, becoming an attractive and key tourist destination, affirming its brand in the country's urban tourism system.
Resolute with "5 no, 3 yes"
One of the key tourist areas of the town that is assessed to have implemented “5 no, 3 yes” well is Nghi Thu ward. Nghi Thu area has 56 business kiosks, 31 restaurants, and 61 hotels and motels.

Mr. Tran The Hoan - Vice Chairman of Nghi Thu Ward People's Committee shared: The important thing for business people is to build a brand and create trust with tourists. There is no advertisement or propaganda like the trust of tourists. This year's tourist season, the weather is not really favorable, the storms came early so the business time is really short but there are a lot of customers. Especially on holidays and weekends, restaurants and hotels are almost full."
At Thien Hoa restaurant, Mr. Hoang Khac Thien said: Most of the restaurant's customers are domestic, from Vinh city and districts in the province, so public prices, enthusiastic attitude, and guaranteed quality are the restaurant's secrets to retaining customers. We always pay attention from choosing fresh seafood ingredients to processing with the view of preserving the characteristic flavor.
Similar to Mr. Thien, the owner of Hoa Nguyet restaurant in Nghi Thu ward also affirmed to maintain the brand and reputation with tourists by serving customers with quality dishes at stable prices. For many years, the restaurant has kept the same price even on holidays, Saturdays and Sundays. Therefore, the restaurant always maintains a large number of customers despite unfavorable weather conditions.

Not only Thu Thuy ward, currently, most restaurants and accommodation establishments in the wards are seriously implementing the "5 no" policy, having hygienic trash bins; regulating garbage collection hours and planning reasonable garbage disposal locations. 100% of restaurants, accommodation establishments and services publicly list prices; the ward has established a tourism security team, a self-management team, issued many sanctions to jointly implement and handle, so the efficiency is very high. After the success of the "5 no" policy, localities in Cua Lo continue to implement "3 yes": Having modern tourism infrastructure, having a civilized tourism environment, having hospitable tourists. This policy is receiving high consensus among the government and people, as well as tourists.
Affirming the brand of coastal cities
With a favorable geographical location, diverse and rich natural resources, friendly and hospitable people, and good state management of tourism, Cua Lo has been evaluated as a potential tourist city and recognized as the first coastal tourist city in the country.
Faced with the increasing demand for service quality, in addition to investing and attracting investment in building facilities and technical infrastructure, strengthening state management of tourism is a key condition for building the Cua Lo tourism brand. The town pays special attention to the management of planning and investment in building infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism. Develop a master plan for the town and detailed plans for wards, focusing on expanding the planning of tourism space south of the Square and west of Binh Minh Street, Cua Hoi area; planning functional areas.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung - Vice Chairman of the Town People's Committee said: In 2017, in the spirit of "discipline - brand", with the efforts of the entire political system and local authorities, Cua Lo achieved many successes in tourism activities. In particular, the opening ceremony of the sea tourism season was upgraded to the provincial level, broadcast live on national television, which is also a very good promotional channel for the coastal town.
In addition, food hygiene and safety are focused on, preventing food poisoning; in 5 years, 220 food hygiene and safety certificates have been issued to production and business establishments, restaurants, and accommodation establishments, and regular inspections are organized. Cua Lo is always highly appreciated by tourists for its safety and security, thus creating trust for tourists when choosing Cua Lo as a tourist destination.
Those reasons explain why the 2017 beach tourism season had a lot of rain, storms came early at the "golden" time, but the number of visitors choosing to visit Cua Lo still increased quite a bit. In the first 7 months of 2017, the town welcomed more than 2 million visitors; revenue from tourism services reached 1,920 billion VND, an increase of 45% over the same period in 2016. The technical infrastructure system and infrastructure were invested in quite synchronously, many important projects were invested in contributing to job creation, expanding the scale and diversifying service industries in all fields; the close connection of tours, tourism routes, development connections, learning experiences in tourism development with urban areas in the country, so the appearance of Cua Lo beach tourism urban area is increasingly modern.
“In the coming time, we will strengthen the management of services, strictly handle violations that affect the tourism environment and urban beauty; at the same time, plan and manage new services such as parasailing, windsurfing, cruises on seas, rivers and ocean exploration in accordance with the urban space and reality of the Town…." - The Town leader added.
Up to now, the town has 288 accommodation establishments with a total of 9,151 rooms; 45 hotels ranked 1-4 stars, basically meeting the requirements for organizing national and international events. The system of business kiosks and tourism products has been invested in and built spaciously with over 300 kiosks providing beach food services, meeting the culinary needs of the people and tourists. In particular, the town has built 34 civilized restaurants to create trust and enhance the tourism brand of Cua Lo. |
