Cua Lo releases rare turtles into the sea
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 4, Nghi Hai ward coordinated with the Border Control Station and Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port to release a sea turtle back into the ocean.

At noon on May 4, Mr. Ngo Trung Dung, residing in Tan Loc block - Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town, while fishing in Cua Hoi sea area, caught a green turtle (another name for sea turtle) weighing about 4kg.

Immediately afterwards, Nghi Hai Ward People's Committee coordinated with the Border Control Station, Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port and fishermen to release the turtle back into the natural environment.
It is known that green turtles, also known as vich, are one of five rare sea turtle species found in Vietnam.
According to fishermen in Cua Hoi sea area, this is the first time they have seen and caught a sea turtle like this.
