Mr. Tai said that this is the work of the investigation agency. Currently, the case has been prosecuted. The General Department of Environment is waiting for the conclusion of the investigation agency.
At a press conference on the afternoon of October 3, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Environment Hoang Van Thuc said: "If necessary, the investigation agency will request to extract security cameras at Noi Bai airport to see if Mr. Quang carried a large amount of money when going through security procedures or not."
Regarding the extraction of security cameras, the representative of Noi Bai Airport Authority clarified: The data screened through the camera is confidential information of passengers. If it is not a dangerous prohibited item, it is normally impossible to extract and provide data that would reveal passenger information.
“The Port Authority is only responsible for extracting information in cases where the investigation agency or the superior agency, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Transport, requests the extraction; otherwise, the passenger information must be kept confidential,” said a representative of the Noi Bai Airport Authority.
Screening can help identify whether there is money in a passenger's suitcase. However, to know specifically, it will have to be done visually.
According to regulations, data recorded by cameras is kept by the Airport Authority for 30 days.
