Veterans of Division 324 celebrate 35 years of international service
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 7, the Liaison Committee of the Association of Soldiers Enlisted in 1982 of Quynh Luu district held a ceremony to celebrate the 35th anniversary of enlistment in Division 324 to Laos for a glorious international mission.

On February 8, 1982, more than 1,000 young men from Quynh Luu district set out to defend the Fatherland. Among them, 350 young men were assigned to Division 324, Corps 678 to carry out the mission of the Vietnam-Laos alliance and were honored to be in the Division's formation to participate in the campaign to hunt down petty traitors and eliminate bandits from Phu He, Xieng Mi, Muong Hum, Noong Kho, Pha Lech, Nam Chia, Pha Long Pheng, Pha Chia... to the last stronghold of the bandits in Bom Long, Muong Kham district, Xieng Khouang province (Laos).
The campaign destroyed 12 sub-regions set up by bandits in rugged areas stretching from Phu Bia through the east of Luang Prabang province to the Laos-Thai border, stabilizing the area and helping people feel secure in developing the economy.

The resilient youth of Quynh Luu district that year completed the glorious international mission, contributing to the revolutionary cause of the neighboring country as well as contributing to the development of the Vietnam People's Army in general and Division 324 in particular. This action has further strengthened the solidarity and loyalty between Vietnam and Laos.
With the achievements gained from the domestic and international resistance wars, Division 324 was honored to be awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal, 7 Military Exploit Medals by the Party and State, twice received the title of Hero of the Armed Forces; the Lao State awarded 3 First Class It Xa La Medals, First Class Independence Medal and many individuals were awarded other types of Medals.
