Former White House adviser talks about Putin's 'beautiful interpreter'
At first, the Russian side listed a male interpreter, but at the last minute they replaced him with a beautiful girl.
Former US National Security Council staffer Fiona Hill shares new details in the story of Russian President Putin's attractive female interpreter. According to Ms. Hill, the Russian delegation is said to have informed about this at the last minute and Mr. Putin personally introduced the girl to his US counterpart Donald Trump.
In an interview with ABC, Hill, who was in charge of communications with Russia and also present at the summit, appeared to endorse former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham's version of events that Putin specifically chose an "attractive dark-haired girl" to be his interpreter at a meeting with Trump in Japan in 2019 to distract his interlocutor.

“We know that was the case because the list of interpreters for this particular meeting was for someone else, a man, but at the last minute the Russians brought in a female interpreter. Partly, I feel, because President Trump invited his daughter Ivanka to attend, as well as Stephanie, who was making her debut in her new role, myself, and another interpreter, who was also a woman,” Hill said.
She admitted that the girl, who was identified as an employee of the Language Support Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Daria Boyarskaya, turned out to be an "excellent interpreter".
“But it was clearly intended to draw attention… President Putin made quite a big deal about it, essentially introducing President Trump to an interpreter, which he doesn’t normally do,” Hill said.
Mr. Dmitry Peskov, Mr. Putin's press secretary, previously said that the selection of interpreters for negotiations with the Russian President was arranged by the Russian Foreign Ministry, and the head of state himself was not involved in this process.
