Former Miss Denmark accused of money laundering
Dethroned beauty queen Christina Mikkelsen is said to have been in a relationship with Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, Vice President of Equatorial Guinea.
On February 7, international news sites reported that Miss Universe Denmark Christina Mikkelsen was stripped of her crown upon her return from the Philippines. The reason given was that Mikkelsen was involved in a criminal investigation.
However, Christina Mikkelsen accused national director John Paul Hamilton of abusive behavior, forcing her to send bikini photos to her phone, making the incident complicated.
Recently, John Paul Hamilton sent a response to the Missosology website. He confirmed that Christina Mikkelsen once dated Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue - Vice President of Equatorial Guinea - and also a notorious African playboy.

At the time of winning the Miss Universe Denmark contest and then representing the country at Miss Universe, the 24-year-old beauty no longer had any connection with Mr. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue.
However, according to Mr. Hamilton, right after the Miss Universe 2016 contest (held in the Philippines), the Face of Denmark organization was informed that Christina Mikkelsen was involved in money laundering allegations.
"Before she returned to Denmark, we heard some money laundering allegations involving Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue. At that time, we had no intention of stripping Christina Mikkelsen of her crown or creating negative publicity for her," Mr Hamilton explained.
"However, when Christina returned home, we were informed that the allegations were related to her. Not only that, she also intended to go on television to heavily criticize the organizers," Mr. Hamilton emphasized.
"Due to this unexpected incident, we are forced to strip Christina of her crown. Our organization does not support wrongdoing. Besides, she also has some actions that violate the contract between the two parties. Hopefully everything will be resolved soon," he added.
