(Baonghean.vn) - A woman who ate poison ivy to commit suicide was promptly saved by the Military Medical Service of Tri Le Border Post (Nghe An Province Border Guard) in coordination with local medical staff.

On the evening of June 2, Ms. Ly Y M. (born in 1995), residing in Huoi Moi village, Tri Le commune (Que Phong), due to family conflicts, ate poison leaves and committed suicide.

The victim was taken to Tri Le Commune Health Station by his family in a state of severe poisoning, with his whole body turning purple, having difficulty breathing, and a weak pulse, life-threatening.

Doctors and nurses from the Military and Civilian Medical Clinic, Tri Le Border Guard Station and the Commune Health Station urgently took measures to treat the victim. After nearly 3 hours of intensive emergency care, the patient's cyanosis was gone, his breathing was less difficult, and he was able to talk. Currently, the patient's health is recovering and progressing well.

It is known that since the beginning of 2020, the unit's medical force has coordinated with local doctors and nurses to save the lives of 7 victims who committed suicide by eating poison ivy using folk remedies./.
