At around 4:00 p.m. on December 3, fishing boat NA-0906-TS, captained by Nguyen Van Linh (resident of Hamlet 17, Phuc Tho Commune, Nghi Loc District), had two crew members on board, Pham Van Khoa and Pham Van Linh.
The fishing boat was on its way back to shore (buoy area 2, Cua Hoi creek, about 2 nautical miles from shore) when it was hit by big waves and strong winds, threatening the lives of the crew. Immediately afterwards, the crew on the fishing boat sent out a distress signal.
Upon receiving an urgent rescue message about a fishing boat sinking at sea, Nghe An Border Guard Squadron 2 notified and coordinated with Navy Squadron 137; at the same time, dispatched a squadron of 2 ships with the numbers BP 0613-01 and BP 06 11-02 with 20 officers and soldiers to urgently search and rescue.
Despite the dark night and bad weather, the unit's officers and soldiers did not hesitate to quickly approach the area where the three fishermen were in distress and urgently brought them onto the ship.
Immediately afterwards, the three fishermen were warmed up, given initial health care and handed over to their families.
