There is "absolutely clear evidence" of Russian interference, he said..However, it is not yet clear whether it affected the election outcome.
"Foreign interference in our elections is a problem," President Bush said, calling Moscow's actions "dangerous to democratic regimes."
In addition, the former US president also commented on the Russian President. "Putin is a great tactician, he knows how to recognize weaknesses and use them," - Mr. Bush said.
He said the Russian president was “hiding his grudge” because he was unhappy with the collapse of the Soviet Union and wanted to restore “Soviet hegemony”. That is why, in his view, NATO is playing a very important role.
"He can't think: How do we make sure we both win; he can only think: How do I win and you lose," Bush said.
The US has repeatedly accused Russia of interfering in the 2016 election. Moscow has denied the accusations and said there is no evidence to prove it.
