Former U23 Vietnam player dies in traffic accident

(Baonghean.vn)- Last night (April 17), defender Tran Phuoc Tho (Long An Club) - who was called up to the Vietnam U23 team under coach Miura, suddenly passed away.

Chairman of Long An Fan Club, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, said that on the night of April 17, in Long An, the defender born in Chau Thanh district had a serious car accident and breathed his last before being taken to the hospital.

It is known that Phuoc Tho fell off his bike and broke his ribs. The ribs punctured his lungs and there was no time for emergency treatment.

Tran Phuoc Tho was once called up to the Vietnam Olympic team to prepare for the 17th Asian Games held in Korea. However, due to injury, Phuoc Tho was unable to go with the team to Incheon.

This season, a persistent injury has forced him to sit out the entire first half of the season. His family is already struggling, and this is truly heartbreaking news for the 23-year-old player’s family, as he still has a bright future ahead of him.
