5 people have died due to floods in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - In the border district of Ky Son (Nghe An), floods killed 5 people, including 3 people in Chieu Luu commune, 1 student in Tay Son commune and 1 body whose identity has not been determined.

On August 17, Mr. Phan Sy Thang - Chief of Office of the People's Committee of Ky Son district (Nghe An) said that at around 11:30 a.m. the same day, Ms. Moong Me Tan (37 years old), residing in Luu Thang village, Chieu Luu commune (Ky Son district) picked up her nephew Cut Van Thon (6th grade student, Chieu Luu Secondary School) from school. While crossing a stream in Luu Thang village, she was unfortunately swept away by floodwaters. By the evening of the same day, according to a quick report from the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, in Ky Son district, two more children, Ha Bao Cu (10 years old, in Dong Tren village, Tay Son commune) and Lu Van Giap (14 years old, in Khe Tang village, Chieu Luu commune) also died due to being swept away by floodwaters.
