Test results of Covid-19 patient from Nghe An who recovered but had fever again

On the morning of August 22, the leader of the Tropical Diseases Center (Nghe An General Hospital) said that patient CVP (39 years old, Nghi Van commune, Nghi Loc district) tested negative for Covid-19. "However, the patient still has a high fever. Therefore, he is still isolated for treatment. When his symptoms disappear, he will be sent home for isolation," he said.
Mr. P. was infected with SARS-CoV-2 and malaria in Equatorial Guinea, treated in the host country for 7 days, then returned to Vietnam on July 29 for further treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Dong Anh Branch 2. During the 19 days of treatment from July 29 to August 18, the patient was tested for Covid-19 5 times, all of which were negative.

On August 18, he was discharged from the hospital and returned to his hometown to self-isolate in his room at home in Nghi Van commune. On August 21, he had a fever of 38 degrees Celsius and was immediately transported by ambulance to the isolation area of Nghe An General Hospital. Doctors suspected that the patient might test positive again, so they strictly isolated him and took samples for testing.
