Rescued 19 fishermen and Nghe An fishing boat in distress at sea
(Baonghean.vn) -While fishing at sea, the fishing boat of fishermen in Quynh Luu had an engine failure that could not be repaired; due to big waves and strong winds, the 19 crew members were all in a state of panic.
On the morning of August 27, at Cua Lo port, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center successfully rescued 19 crew members and towed the fishing boat NA 97788 TS safely to shore.

Previously, on August 25, while fishing near the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin, the NA 97788 TS ship captained by Mr. Bui Xuan Hau with 19 crew members on board had an engine failure that could not be repaired. Mr. Hau had to let the ship drift at sea, with no ships around to assist.
At this time, the weather conditions turned bad due to the influence of storm No. 7 entering the East Sea, the Southeast wind was level 5-6, the waves caused the ship to rock violently. The health of the crew on board was exhausted, their spirits were panicked.
Faced with the urgent situation, the captain sent an emergency request for assistance to the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center.

Realizing the seriousness of the incident, which could threaten the safety of the crew members, under the urgent and drastic direction of the National Committee for Search and Rescue, the Ministry of Transport, and the Vietnam Maritime Administration, at 20:18 on August 25, the SAR 273 Ship Dispatch Center, which was on standby at Cua Lo Port, set out to rescue fishing boat NA 97788 TS and 19 crew members.
After more than 10 hours of traveling at sea at night, at around 6am on August 26, the rescue team reached the fishing boat in distress, providing support and medical care for the 19 crew members.

At 8:00 a.m. on August 27, 19 fishermen and fishing boat NA 97788 TS were safely towed ashore by the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center and handed over to the ship owner in the presence of local authorities, Nghe An Border Guard and related units.
