The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minority Representatives of Tan Ky District, 2024
The Congress of Ethnic Minority Representatives of Tan Ky District elected a delegation of 12 representatives to attend the higher-level Congress and adopted the Congress Resolution.
On the morning of June 18th, the People's Committee of Tan Ky district organized the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minority Representatives of the district, 2024, with the theme "Ethnic groups unite, innovate, leverage advantages and potential, integrate and develop sustainably".
Attending the congress were representatives from the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee, the Provincial Farmers' Association, leaders of Tan Ky district, and 144 outstanding delegates representing ethnic minority communities throughout the district.
Tan Ky DistrictThere are over 150,000 people, comprising three main ethnic groups: Kinh, Thai, and Tho, living interspersed across 11 communes and towns. Of these, 32,288 are ethnic minorities, accounting for 21.5%. This includes 12,992 Thai people, 18,705 Tho people, and 591 people from other ethnic groups.
During the period 2019-2020, Tan Ky district invested a total of 7 billion VND to implement 14 projects in the fields of transportation, culture, health, education, irrigation, etc., and maintained and repaired 12 projects with a total investment of 1.5 billion VND. The district also implemented a program to support production development and diversify livelihoods in 12 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, targeting poor and near-poor households, with a total budget of 14.35 billion VND.
In particular, over the past period, Tan Ky district has mobilized and integrated more than 155 billion 071 million VND to implement the project.National Target ProgramTo develop the socio-economic conditions of ethnic minority and mountainous regions, including supporting the construction of 4 water supply projects, 13 transportation projects, 3 flood-resistant bridges, 7 community cultural centers, 1 rural market, and 1 community tourism destination...

Cultural and artistic movements have been maintained, and the cultural identity of ethnic minorities has been gradually promoted. Eight out of twelve communes in ethnic minority areas have met the standards for new rural development, achieving the highest rate compared to other districts; the entire district has 24 agricultural products that meet the 3-star OCOP standard.
Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Bui Thanh Bao - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, and Chairman of the District People's Council - requested that Party committees, governments, departments, and political and social organizations throughout the district continue to promote dynamism and creativity, based on the district's potential and advantages, focusing efforts on implementing national target programs, especially the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Promote emulation in the comprehensive development of all cultural and social fields, and foster the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups. Continue to build and promote the role of influential individuals and core forces in ethnic minority and mountainous regions.
Furthermore, it is necessary to continue innovating the content and methods of implementing ethnic affairs work to suit the requirements and tasks in the new situation; further promote the strength of national unity among ethnic groups, and boost patriotic emulation movements in ethnic minority areas and among all strata of the population.
The Congress elected a delegation of 12 representatives to attend the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Nghe An Province and adopted the Congress Resolution.
On this occasion, the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to 5 individuals, and the Tan Ky District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to 4 collectives and 7 individuals for their outstanding achievements, particularly those from ethnic minority groups who have made significant contributions to ethnic affairs and ethnic policies during the period 2019-2024.
