Russian Ambassador to Germany: Hope no obstacles will prevent the Nord Stream 2 project
Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev said that the statement that Russia's gas supply to Europe is an "energy weapon" is just a fantasy and reveals unfair competition.

He expressed hope that the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project will overcome all artificial obstacles.
"Russian-German energy cooperation is indeed one of the most important priorities in our bilateral relations. The myth of Russia's "energy weapon" only reveals an element of unfair competition. We supply gas and receive hard currency in return, in a good idea, it is interdependence or, in other words, complementarity," Ambassador Nechaev said, commenting on Trump's statement.
"Many people in Europe are interested in the implementation of the project, because Nord Stream 2 aims to ensure energy security across the continent. We oppose the intention to politicize the economic project. Therefore, the work is being actively and urgently promoted. We hope that no obstacles will prevent the project, even if people try to artificially impose constraints from the outside to interfere in the implementation of this project," the Ambassador added.
