Nghe An students denied visa to go to the US to attend international science and technology competition
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the first time Nghe An students have participated in an international Science and Technology (S&T) competition held in the United States. However, the plan is at risk of being "missed" because the members have not been granted visas by the US Embassy.
Previously, a group of 7 students from Nghe An (2 students and 5 observers) had applied for visas to go to the US to attend the International Science and Technology Competition. However, after two interviews, only 3 people were granted visas.
Among those rejected were Mai Nhat Anh - co-author of the project "System for distilling salt water into fresh water with vacuum technique using hydraulic pump by ocean wave energy" and teacher Mai Van Quyen - Instructor.

Due to the visa refusal, the risk of the Nghe An student group’s project being canceled is very high. Faced with this reality, in recent days, the press agencies have been very active in taking action.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training, as the host unit, wrote a letter to the contest organizers asking for help. At the same time, it requested the leaders of the International Cooperation Department to send a letter to the US Ambassador to Vietnam, hoping to create opportunities for the remaining members of the delegation to be granted visas.
In the past few days, although the opportunity to go to the US to participate in the international science and technology competition has encountered many difficulties. However, overcoming the obstacles, student Mai Nhat Anh, teacher Mai Van Quyen and colleagues still urgently checked the final stages of the project "System for distilling salt water into fresh water with vacuum technology using hydraulic pumps by ocean wave energy".
This is one of eight projects selected by the Ministry of Education and Training to compete in the international science and technology competition held in the United States from May 13.
