(Baonghean.vn) - That was the sharing of Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam Manopchai Vongphakdi at a courtesy meeting with provincial leaders within the framework of his visit and work in Nghe An.

Within the framework of the visit and work in Nghe An, on the afternoon of December 8, the delegation of the Thai Embassy had a courtesy meeting with the provincial leaders. At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh welcomed the delegation's visit and introduced some highlights of Nghe An province; at the same time, informed the delegation about the province's socio-economic development situation in 2017.

Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is estimated at 75,813.77 billion VND, equivalent to about 3.3 billion USD, up 8.25% compared to 2016. Regarding economic structure, services account for a large proportion, followed by industry - construction, and agriculture tends to decrease in proportion, in line with the shifting trend.

Regarding investment attraction, in 2017 Nghe An granted new and adjusted (including investment policy approval and investment certificate issuance) 152 projects, with total registered capital equivalent to 610 million USD.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh hopes that the Ambassador and members of the delegation will introduce and convey to Thai businesses the image of Nghe An with its potential and many preferential conditions for investors, serving as a bridge for Thai and Nghe An investors to strengthen comprehensive cooperation in all fields.

“Nghe An commits to creating the most favorable conditions for Thai businesses to invest and cooperate in development,” the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed.

There are currently 5 FDI ​​projects from Thailand being implemented in Nghe An, with a total registered capital of 27.75 million USD. Of these, 1 mineral processing project, 1 agricultural and forestry product planting and processing project, 1 education and training project, 1 food processing project and 1 commercial project.

On behalf of the delegation, Ambassador Manopchai Vongphakdi thanked the province for its warm and thoughtful welcome. After learning more about Nghe An, he expressed his confidence:

“I believe Nghe An will have a bright future ahead and will be an important economic center and industrial production base of the North Central region. This is an important factor attracting the interest of Thai businesses to invest in Nghe An.”

Referring to the industrial park project of WHA Hemaraj Company, Ambassador Manopchai Vongphakdi emphasized the largest scale among Thai projects being implemented in the North Central region of Vietnam, and believed that when the project is successful, it will attract many other partners of the company to invest in Nghe An.

The Thai diplomatic delegation also conveyed to the leaders of Nghe An province 3 requests from WHA Hemaraj Company related to land lease term, environmental impact assessment report and bringing power grid to the industrial park, hoping that the province will create favorable conditions for the business to operate smoothly and soon bring about efficiency.

Nghe An accepted these recommendations and promised to consider and coordinate to resolve them as quickly as possible, in accordance with current legal regulations.
