Commune radio station in Ha Tinh has foreign language inserted
The foreign language interference incident occurred for more than an hour at two loudspeaker clusters in Thach Ha commune (Ha Tinh).
On the afternoon of May 17, Mr. Nguyen Song Han - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Ha Commune (Ha Tinh City, Ha Tinh) - said that the commune's FM loudspeaker system had just been interfered with, broadcasting a foreign language program for more than an hour.
"The incident happened on the morning of May 14, at two loudspeaker clusters in Minh Yen - Dong Doai village and Lien Nhat village. People reported that the sound sounded like Chinese, but in reality it was not possible to confirm which language it was, and no one understood what was being said," said Mr. Han.

The commune's cultural officers then tried to fix the problem but were unable to do so, so they cut off the power.
Thach Ha Commune reported the incident to the People's Committee of Ha Tinh City, made a request to the Frequency Management Department to send specialized staff to reset the frequency, and it is expected that next week the radio station can operate again.
According to Mr. Han, this is the first time the commune's loudspeaker system has been affected by radio waves.
Previously, some radio stations in Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam were also affected by interference, broadcasting foreign languages. Authorities handled the situation by installing frequency encoders and upgrading transmitters.
