Military medical captain 50 years of treating and saving people

(Baonghean.vn) - Being close and dedicated in the work of examining and treating patients in the locality is the feeling when meeting with the military doctor with the rank of Captain - Nguyen Dinh Trung in Quynh Lien commune (Hoang Mai town).

After 24 years of military service, in December 1987, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Trung returned to his hometown and volunteered to be the Head of Quynh Lien Commune Health Station.

Every year, on average, Quynh Lien Commune Health Station examines and treats 6,000 - 7,000 people, including patients from outside the commune. During his years working here, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Trung examined and treated tens of thousands of patients, hundreds of maternity cases, and saved many patients from serious illnesses.

Doctor Trung confided: "When I first retired, I saw that people's lives were still difficult, while they had to travel far to see a doctor, so I decided to work at the commune health station to have the conditions to examine and treat the people in my commune in a timely manner."

In order for Quynh Lien Medical Station to achieve the national criteria for health in the period of 2011-2020, Dr. Trung held a meeting with the agency to discuss the plan to consult and submit it to the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune for approval. Coordinated with industry organizations and mass organizations at the commune level to strengthen propaganda and mobilize the entire population in environmental sanitation, disease prevention and health protection. In particular, Dr. Trung mobilized staff, employees and sponsors to contribute 54 million VND to repair and pour concrete roads into the station to make it spacious and clean.

In February 2013, Quynh Lien Health Station was honored to receive a certificate from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee recognizing the commune as meeting national health standards. Since then, that title has been maintained and developed.

Not only doing a good job in his professional work, in the new rural construction movement, Doctor Trung's family also donated 200 square meters of cultivated land, dismantled over 100 meters of stone walls and many other crops and trees to expand and build rural roads, contributing to making Quynh Lien commune the first commune to reach the new rural finish line of Hoang Mai town in 2015.

At the age of 70, his health has declined, but Dr. Trung's love for his profession has not diminished. Dr. Trung has never had a day off from the medical work he has pursued for over 50 years.

With his contributions, Dr. Trung was honored to receive many Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health, Department of Health, People's Committee of Hoang Mai province and town.
