Stabbed son's love rival to death at home

Hearing his wife shouting robber, the man rushed home. Although he knew the victim was not a robber, he immediately killed her for interfering in his son's love affair.

On November 25, the Hanoi People's Court sentenced father and son Nguyen Quy Tap (born 1967) and Nguyen Quy Tien (born 1997, both in Soc Son, Hanoi) to 13 years and 8 years in prison, respectively.

The court proceedings showed that before the murder, Nguyen Quy Tien and Doan Tien Tung (born in 1999, in Soc Son, Hanoi) had a conflict with each other, requiring police intervention.

After that, Mr. Tien and his girlfriend in the same village, Ms. Nguyen Thi May (born in 1998) had a conflict that led to a breakup. On the evening of January 8, 2016, Tien saw his ex-girlfriend hanging out with Mr. Tung and some friends, so he was very upset.

On the way home from work, Ms. May had to pass by Tien's house without knowing that her "old lover" was waiting for her. Seeing Ms. May appear, Tien rushed out and dragged his ex-lover into his house to talk.

At that time, Mr. Tung was sitting at a nearby coffee shop when he heard the news that his "girlfriend" had been arrested. Immediately, Tung went to Tien's house to rescue Ms. May from her ex-lover.

When they arrived, Tung and Tien were fighting, so Tien's mother intervened and pushed Tung out into the yard. At that moment, money fell out of Tien's mother's pocket, so the woman shouted "robbery" to call for help.

Mr. Nguyen Quy Tap was sitting next door at that time, when he heard his wife shouting for help, he immediately went home. Even though he knew Mr. Tung was not a robber, Mr. Tap still took a knife and slashed the person who interrupted his son's love affair.

Even when Mr. Tap's relatives tried to stop him, the suspect still rushed forward and stabbed Mr. Tung through the abdomen, leading to his death. During this process, Mr. Tien also supported his father by picking up a chair and hitting his rival./.
