The Communist Party of Russia congratulates the success of the 12th Congress

On the occasion of the success of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a reporter from the Voice of Vietnam stationed in the Russian Federation interviewed Mr. Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, about the traditional friendship between the two Parties and the two states.

Reporter: Mr. Gennady Zyuganov, the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam has elected a new Central Committee. What do you expect from the new Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation and between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation?

Mr. Gennady Zyuganov:Vietnam and the Russian Federation have a long-standing traditional friendship, and have shared victories over great imperialist invaders. We are linked by our modernization program. The Soviet Union and Russia have invested a lot of resources in the development of Vietnam, and we are proud of the great achievements we have made together with you.

Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia Zyuganov answered VOV's interview.

I was very active in persuading Mr. Putin to cooperate more closely with Vietnam because it was very necessary. At that time, I flew with Mr. Putin to Vietnam to attend the APEC Summit and during the meeting, the two sides signed a series of new agreements to strengthen extensive cooperation in all fields.

I have full confidence that the Central Executive Committee and the new leadership of Vietnam will continue to actively implement the set guidelines and we are very interested in this.

I think that the Russian Federation needs to pay more attention to cooperation with Asian countries. The Russian Federation is a large country and we have many interests linked to Europe, but at the moment many important events are taking place in the Asia-Pacific region.

There are important financial resources, key economic vectors and new technologies converging, and based on this orientation together with the modernization and development process, Vietnam has achieved many great achievements in the economic and social fields in recent times. We are proud and congratulate you on the achievements you have made, and believe that we need to continue this orientation.

I am absolutely confident that Vietnam will take its rightful place in the world economy. With a population of nearly 100 million, working together with Russia and its neighbors, Vietnam will effectively solve all its social problems and become more competitive in the modern world.

The 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam was a great success.

PV: What do you think about the innovation policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam?

Mr. Gennady Zyuganov:The renovation and modernization policy, implemented by the Communist Party of Vietnam, has created high growth rates, modern technology and revolution in agriculture. The VietsovPetro joint venture operates very effectively. Currently, there are other joint ventures between Russia and Vietnam in Russia, but VietsovPetro is the only joint venture that has survived from the Soviet era.

I visited this joint venture when it was supposed to be dissolved and suggested to the Russian leadership to keep it. It was a valuable experience because after reforming and solving problems on the basis of investing more resources, we achieved good results. I think you are on the right track and it should be replicated.

Over the past years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has achieved brilliant achievements in the economic and social fields, improving the people's lives.
