The official dispatch clearly states that Clause 2, Article 11, Decree No. 105/2014/ND-CP dated November 15, 2014 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance: "In case a person with a health insurance card is being treated at a medical examination and treatment facility but the health insurance card has expired, the health insurance fund will still pay for medical examination and treatment costs within the scope of benefits according to the prescribed regime until discharge from the hospital or the end of the outpatient treatment period".
Regarding the validity of health insurance cards for children, the 2014 amended Law on Health Insurance also stipulates that in the case of children who are 72 months old but have not yet entered school, the health insurance card is valid until September 30 of that year.
In case of "expired health insurance card and new health insurance card for other groups (students, relatives...); Children over 6 years old whose card has expired but has not been issued a new card or does not have a continuation card", follow the regulations in Clause 2, Article 11 of Decree No. 105/2014/ND-CP.
This official dispatch of the Ministry of Health is to request Vietnam Social Security to comply with the provisions of Decree 105/2014/ND-CP.
