Bombings and terrorist attacks at Belgian airports and train stations: 34 people killed

Belgian forces have tightened security at nuclear power plants across the country following a deadly attack in Brussels, the Belga news agency reported. Surveillance has been stepped up, with additional security measures at nuclear plants. Vehicles are being checked, while the army and police are on the scene.
Hospitals in Belgium are on alert due to the large number of casualties following the explosions.
The Islamic State (IS) posted a statement on its Amaq news agency, which is linked to the militant group, claiming responsibility for the attacks in Brussels, according to Egyptian media.
According to the Guardian, in a press conference broadcast live on television, Prime Minister Charles Michel confirmed that the airport attack was carried out by a suicide bomber. He called for calm and unity after the tragic moment.

Dutch police have stepped up security patrols at airports and tightened checks at borders, the country's security agency said.
Flights were diverted from Brussels, Belgium, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, after Zaventem airport was attacked. Trains to Belgium were suspended indefinitely, the Dutch national railway agency said.
Greek airline Aegean Airlines announced that it is suspending all flights to and from Brussels. Flights already departing to Brussels will be diverted to Dusseldorf, Germany.
Gatwick Airport, London, England, also increased security after a series of explosions occurred in Brussels, Belgium. British Prime Minister David Cameron is preparing to hold an emergency cabinet meeting on the attacks.
Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders said authorities feared suspects involved in today's Brussels attacks may still be at large.
"The investigation is still ongoing... because we are concerned that they have not been caught," Foreign Minister Reynders told RTBF after a press conference in Brussels.
