Honor
(Baonghean.vn) - Honor is the respect and evaluation of public opinion towards each person based on that person's spiritual and moral values; it is self-awareness of one's own value, respect and preservation of that value, especially in difficult contexts, before challenging situations.
A true person takes the “oath of honor” very seriously; feels ashamed when “losing honor” and is also very indignant when “his honor is defamed”. Regardless of the size of the position, regardless of rich or poor, noble or humble, regardless of profession, gender,... everyone can and mustcultivate, train, preserve one's own honor. Cadres and party members must know how to preserve and respect honor so that the people will respect and love them.

Lost material and money can be rebuilt and found; lost honor is hard to get back. Therefore, honorable people, when preparing to do something, especially important, challenging, sensitive things, often think carefully and thoroughly. They always put the interests of the country and the community above their own interests. If they do something that is beneficial to them but affects their own honor, harms the interests of others or the organization, they will definitely not do it. The honor of a cadre or party member is extremely noble and sacred. Honorable people often take their oath when joining the ranks of communist party members to prevent moments of weakness before all the temptations of life.
Many generations of Vietnamese people in the past passed it around to read.Tempered steel, once admired, with the immortal saying of the character Pavel:“We only live once. We must live so as to not feel painful regrets for our mean and miserable past...”.Many generations have known it by heart.“Personal honor/ Is shared by all comrades/ Must be meticulously preserved/ Like the pupil of the eye/ Until the last breath/ Never stray from discipline...”.It is for that reason of life, that dignity, that honor that millions of compatriots and comrades fought and sacrificed in the resistance wars to defend the country, protect the Fatherland and build the country.
But reputation and honor do not come naturally, nor are they immutable. They will be diminished or even lost if we do not know how to preserve, protect, and cultivate them. Entering the market economy, many people have fallen and lost their honor. Unfortunately, among them, there are people who have gone through life and death, not afraid of hardship and sacrifice... They were once awarded the title of Hero, Emulation Fighter, they were not defeated by the enemy's guns and bullets but "died" with "sugar-coated bullets". There are also people with high power, high positions, "highly educated and knowledgeable", with many degrees, but "say one thing, do another".

In the waranti-corruption, negative, many cadres and party members, including high-ranking cadres of the Party and State do not know how to preserve their honor, lack of moral training and practice, are heavily biased towards selfish individualism, cannot overcome the temptations of power, position, money... fall, degrade, are disciplined, some have to suffer legal consequences, imprisonment. They have lost their own honor; damaged the prestige and reputation of the Party, eroded the people's trust in the Party and the regime. We understand more deeply the saying of President Ho Chi Minh: "A nation, a party and each individual, who were great yesterday, had great appeal, are not necessarily loved and praised by everyone today and tomorrow, if their hearts are no longer pure, if they fall into individualism".
It is not by chance thatGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong repeatedly remindedCadres and party members, first of all leaders, "must know how to respect integrity and maintain honor". He also repeatedly emphasized:Honor is the most sacred and noble thing, which will last forever; we must maintain the qualifications, ethics, and honor of a party member and revolutionary cadre.
