Mr. Ho Manh Ha - Deputy Head of Heritage Management Department, Department of Culture and Sports affirmed: This is a stone axe of prehistoric people, belonging to the New Stone Age, dating from 1,600 to 3,500 years ago, similar to the excavated artifact at the Ru Tran site in Nam Dan district. Compared to the stone axes of the same era discovered in our province, this axe is quite large in size and has value in historical research. The discovery of the ancient stone axe in Thanh Yen commune, Thanh Chuong district marks another site with traces of the New Stone Age in Nghe An. Photo: Huy Thu |
