Digging the house foundation, discovered a 340kg bomb with the detonator intact
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 15, the Nghi Loc District Military Command coordinated with the Engineering Department of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command to successfully detonate a 340kg bomb left over from the war.
Previously, on December 13, Mr. Nguyen Van Giao's family in Hamlet 9, Nghi Lam Commune, Nghi Loc District, while digging land to build a house, discovered a bomb left over from the war with the detonator intact.

The family reported to the local authorities and the Nghi Loc District Military Command. After receiving the information, the Nghi Loc District Military Command promptly sent a working group to the scene, and determined that the bomb was the second largest explosive device discovered in the area.
The bomb was 41cm in diameter and 1.2m long and was dropped by the US. Immediately after identifying the local military forces, they cordoned off the area, evacuated people from the danger zone, and deployed forces to guard and protect the scene.

Using professional measures, the Engineering Department of the Provincial Military Command neutralized the detonator, coordinated with the Nghi Loc District Military Command and Nghi Lam Commune Military Command to transport the bomb to the detonation site at Dong Sap Rem, Nghi Lam Commune and successfully destroyed it, ensuring absolute safety.
Thus, as of December 15, 2020, Nghi Loc district has discovered 3 bombs left over from the war and transported and destroyed them to ensure absolute safety in all aspects.
