(Baonghean) - Ngu Island, also known as Song Ngu, is formed from two large mountains facing the sea. The highest peak is about 133m high, the other is about 88m smaller, so people have long called it Ngu Island. With an area of only 2.5 km2, Ngu Island is both a wave barrier for Cua Lo tourist area and an attractive tourist destination.

Visitors to the island pay special attention to Ngu Pagoda, built during the Tran Dynasty nearly 700 years ago and considered the most sacred here. The pagoda is located between the trade route of Cua Lo and Cua Hoi, so in the past, merchants who came and went to trade often came here to burn incense and pray for good luck. Ngu Pagoda consists of 3 parts: the upper pagoda, the lower pagoda and the pagoda garden. In addition to worshiping Buddha, the pagoda also worships a talented general of the Tran Dynasty, Sat Hai Dai Vuong Hoang Ta Thon. Legend has it that in the past, he was a talented general with many glorious achievements, so the people asked the king to worship him here to remember his merits.

The pagoda has a simple architecture, the carved motifs are all in accordance with the model of other pagodas in Vietnam. The pagoda has 3 rooms with yin-yang tile roofs; the beams are carved with the four sacred animals (dragon, unicorn, turtle, phoenix) very beautifully and very sacredly; The pagoda garden has many naturally growing green trees such as: dai, mung, gioi, in the pagoda garden there are currently 2 ancient gioi trees and a freshwater well called Ngoc Well. The pagoda yard has 2 barringtonia trees about 700 years old. The space of the pagoda garden is very airy with the shade of large green trees covering the garden. Coming here, you will find peace in your heart. Visiting the pagoda and respectfully offering incense, visitors seem to be immersed in the legendary atmosphere of more than 7 centuries ago. Surely when leaving Ngu island, visitors will still be attached to the quiet and sacred features of the pagoda and the heroic land here.

On the island, there are many wild animals such as weasels, monitor lizards, goats, monkeys... around the island along with many precious seafood, especially the "specialty" dragon snail. Ngu An Island is located on the outside, creating a poetic and beautiful position for Cua Lo beach. The four-season blue color of the sea water stretches far away, meeting the reddish-brown color of the clouds of the island cliffs when the sky is clear. The island is also a place to shelter small fishing boats from storms.
