In response to students' concerns, Mr. Sai Cong Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) said that according to the Circular promulgating regulations on national high school exams and recognition of high school graduation issued by the Ministry from January 25, 2017, in 2018, the exam content is included in the curriculum of both grades 11 and 12 of high school. From 2019 onwards, the high school exam content is included in the high school curriculum. The exam method has not changed compared to 2017.
Mr. Hong said that the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the sample exam as soon as possible for teachers and students to refer to, orient teaching, learning and reviewing to achieve the highest efficiency in the upcoming 2018 National High School Exam.
“This aims to help students focus on knowledge for the entire high school level, not just grade 12. Therefore, candidates taking the national high school exam this year need to have a plan to prepare and review knowledge in a balanced way, avoiding studying and reviewing in an unbalanced way,” said Mr. Hong.
Mr. Hong said that the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the sample test as soon as possible so that candidates can get acquainted.
As previously announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2018, 2019 and 2020, the organization of national high school exams and subjects will remain stable as in 2017.
From 2021 onwards, exams and subjects will be designed in line with the roadmap for implementing the new general education program. If conditions permit, candidates can take the exam on computers.
To further improve the quality of exams and admissions to full-time universities and colleges, the Ministry of Education and Training will also implement a number of policies according to the roadmap such as continuing to build a standardized question bank, improving the differentiation of exam questions according to the current general education program and gradually orienting content according to the roadmap for implementing the new general education program.
At the same time, review priority groups and priority areas to adjust priority scores in admission to suit actual conditions and better implement social equity.
