(Baonghean.vn) - That is the message of the 2017 International Day of the Girl Child, calling on policymakers and financiers to invest in developing the potential of girls, ensuring their rights to a fairer, more prosperous future.
Eight years ago, the United Nations General Assembly declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child, aiming to “recognize the rights of girls and the challenges they face around the world.”

According to the United Nations, providing a better life for girls is also a way to provide a better life for everyone. In fact, women’s incomes increase by 15-25% each year. Women invest more of their income in their families than men. A well-educated woman will marry later, have fewer children, have healthier children, and raise them better…
Girls born at the turn of the millennium have reached adolescence and the generation of girls born this year will be adolescents by 2030. The United Nations hopes that the International Day of the Girl will bring positive results.
