(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the Department of Enterprise and Labor Management, Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, as of today (February 19), January 10, a total of nearly 30,000 workers at 92 enterprises in the Southeast Economic Zone have returned to work after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Of which, on the 10th day of the first lunar month alone, 11,406 more workers returned to work in the Southeast Economic Zone.

Of the total of nearly 30,000 workers returning to work mentioned above, 341 workers at 6 enterprises went to work earliest from February 8, the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, namely Central Liquefied Petroleum Gas Development Company Limited in Bac Vinh Industrial Park, Mavin Austfeed Nghe An Company Limited and Viet Nhat - Nghe An Logistics Joint Stock Company in Nam Cam Industrial Park, Biomass Fuel Vietnam Company Limited in VSIP Industrial Park,Cua Lo Port Company Limitedand Saigon - Nghe An Petroleum Joint Stock Company; 3,468 workers from 7 enterprises started working from February 9, the 5th day of Tet; 10,708 workers from 48 enterprises started working from February 14, the 6th day of Tet Giap Thin.

From February 15, 16, 17 and 18, i.e. January 7 to 9, there were 3,171 more workers at 13 enterprises. Notably, today (February 19), i.e. January 10, the number of workers returning to work after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin was the highest, with 11,406 people at 12 enterprises. It is expected that from now until February 24, i.e. January 15, there will be about 1,000 more workers returning to work.

Mr. Dinh Van Phong - Head of Enterprise and Labor Management Department,Southeast Economic Zone Management Boardsaid: With nearly 30 thousand workers returning or confirmed to return to work after the holidayLunar New Year of the Dragon, meaning 94% of workers at operating businesses have returned to work.

Compared to enterprises outside the economic zone, FDI enterprises in industrial parks in the Southeast Economic Zone returned to work earlier, especially enterprises related to loading and unloading services, logistics warehouses... However, because industrial parks also have domestic enterprises, due to the decrease in orders this year, workers had a longer Tet holiday and returned to work later than in previous years.

A representative of the Department of Enterprise and Labor Management, Southeast Economic Zone Management Board said: To prepare human resources for FDI enterprises that are about to start operating in 2024, the Board is actively coordinating with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, investors in industrial park infrastructure and universities and vocational colleges in the area to organize conferences connecting labor supply and demand in the coming time.

The Southeast Economic Zone currently has 141 operating enterprises, employing about 38,000 workers, an increase of nearly 8,000 people compared to 2022. Of these, about 30 enterprises are operating at a loss or are operating at a moderate level, so they do not employ many workers; the remaining 110 enterprises, including FDI enterprises, are operating, employing about 32,000 workers.
