Two girls drowned while catching snails
(Baonghean.vn) - While going down the stream to catch fish, two local youths discovered two students drowning in the stream. The tragic incident happened in Thanh Son commune, Thanh Chuong district.
Mr. Lu Van Duong - Chairman of Thanh Son Commune People's Committee just informed that at about 4:30 p.m. on May 6, two young men going fishing in Thanh Lam village discovered two girls drowning in the stream.
The victims were Vi Thi Hai A. (born 2011), a 6th grade student at Kim Lam 2 Secondary School, and Kha Thi Thao X. (born 2012), a 5th grade student at Kim Lam Primary School. Both students were from Thanh Lam village, Thanh Son commune.
Mr. Duong added that according to the children's family, this afternoon the two children invited each other to go catch snails in the stream near their house. Both children knew how to swim, but somehow they drowned. After being discovered, the bodies of the two children were brought home for burial.
Upon receiving the information, Thanh Son commune officials came to offer condolences and encourage the family, and at the same time dispatched forces to support the victims' families.
