While herding buffalo, a 12th grade male student drowned while bathing in a pond.
(Baonghean.vn) - On June 22, the authorities of Dong Van commune (Tan Ky) said that a tragic drowning incident had just occurred in the area.
The victim is Tr.VM (born in 2000), a 12th grade student in A4, Tan Ky 3 High School. M is the Secretary of the Youth Union, a good student, and active in school activities.
The victim's family said: Although the National High School Exam was approaching, because someone in her aunt's family passed away, M was asked to go to her aunt's house in Tan Dong hamlet to help herd buffalo. At noon on June 22, M and her younger brother herded the buffalo home. At around 1 p.m. that same day, M let the buffalo settle down and went to bathe in the pond at her aunt's neighbor's house, but unfortunately she slipped and sank.
Witnessing the incident, the younger brother panicked and ran back to call for help, but when he was pulled up, M was dead.
Currently, the family is organizing a funeral for M according to local customs.
