Arrested for robbery, 9 theft cases worth hundreds of millions of dong revealed
At the police station, Tue confessed that from mid-September 2024 until now, he and Dang Ngoc Dung had committed 1 robbery and 9 thefts.
On the afternoon of November 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Lien Chieu District Police, Da Nang City arrested Vo Van Tue (born 1999) and Dang Ngoc Dung (born 1994, both residing in Tam Thuan Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang) for robbery, and at the same time clarified 9 cases of property theft committed by these two subjects.
It is known that from September 2024 to present, in Lien Chieu district, there have been consecutive thefts and robberies. The time frame of the incidents is usually from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., carried out by very reckless and daring subjects. Faced with the above situation, the leader of Lien Chieu District Police directed the Criminal Police - Economic - Drug Team to coordinate with the police of the wards, including Hoa Khanh Bac Ward Police, to assess the methods and tricks of the perpetrators.
Through examining traces at the scene, the detectives found that this was a very professional subject, who had researched before committing the crime, such as taking advantage of deserted times, few people, rainy weather conditions, and no surrounding surveillance camera system... to commit the crime.
Applying professional measures, with the determination to prove and clarify the subject, the Criminal Police - Economic - Drug Team coordinated with the Hoa Khanh Bac Ward Police to review and make a list of suspicious subjects operating in the area. Through screening, the police agency found that Vo Van Tue, residing in Thanh Khe District, had recently appeared in Lien Chieu District with suspicious signs. Verifying the subject's identity and background, the detective discovered that Tue had a previous conviction for "Intentionally causing injury" and had recently completed his prison term.
On November 11, after having sufficient information and documents, the Lien Chieu District Police Department decided to arrest Vo Van Tue while he was in the district. At the police station, Tue confessed that from mid-September 2024 to present, he and Dang Ngoc Dung had committed 1 robbery and 9 thefts in Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe and Cam Le districts with a total value of stolen property of more than 250 million VND.
Initially, the police seized a number of exhibits including mobile phones, iPads, laptops that the subjects had stolen and snatched, and a motorbike that the subjects used to commit the crime. Currently, the Lien Chieu District Police continue to investigate and expand the case.
