(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 7, at Ta Xieng village, Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong), a tragic drowning incident occurred. The victim was Luong Thi To Han (13 years old), a 7A student at Huong Tien Secondary School.

According to local people, on the afternoon of September 7, Luong Thi To Han and two friends, Vi Thien Bao and Vi Thi Thuy Tien, who lived in the same village, invited each other to go deep into the forest (about 20 km from home) to pick bamboo shoots to eat. At about 4:00 p.m. the same day, while picking bamboo shoots, Han slipped and fell from a high place into a cliff (about 4 meters deep) below. Her friends discovered the incident and ran back to the village to report the incident.

Relatives and family went into the forest and dived to search the area where Han fell. When they rescued Han, she had drowned. Her body was brought home by relatives that night.

On the morning of September 8, the family and Ta Xieng village buried the victim. Staff, teachers, students of Huong Tien Secondary School and local authorities came to offer condolences, visit and encourage the victim's family.
