Working on National Day holiday, employees receive at least 400% of normal daily salary

According to the provisions of the Labor Law, on the occasion of the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 3 consecutive days off and will not have to work in compensation.

Since the holiday falls on Monday, if we add 2 weekend days, employees will have a total of 3 days off, from Saturday 31/8 to Monday 2/9.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs noted that agencies implementing the above holiday schedule need to arrange work units reasonably to handle work continuously, ensuring good service to the people.

Agencies that do not have a weekly Saturday and Sunday off schedule will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable holiday schedule.

National Day September 2, 2019 is a 3-day holiday.

If working on National Day September 2, 2019, employees will be paid according to the Labor Code.

Specifically, according to Point d, Clause 1, Article 115 of the 2012 Labor Code, employees who work on holidays are entitled to 100% of their salary.

In addition, according to Point c, Clause 1, Article 97 of the 2012 Labor Code, if an employee works on a holiday, he/she will also receive at least 300% of the salary for that day.

Thus, employees will receive a total of at least 400% of their normal daily salary if they work during the National Day holiday on September 2.

In addition, if employees work overtime on the night of a holiday, they will receive an additional 30% of their normal salary.

However, the Labor Law always encourages employers to pay higher wages to employees.

Regarding bonuses, employers base on annual production and business results and work completion level to decide on bonuses for employees.
