12 year old male student tragically drowned while swimming in dam
(Baonghean.vn) - A tragic drowning incident just occurred in Thanh Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district. The victim was Nguyen Quang H. (12 years old), residing in Thanh Tung commune.
According to locals, on the morning of June 14, Nguyen Quang H. returned to Phu Lap hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune (Thanh Chuong) to attend his grandfather's death anniversary, then he followed his relatives to his aunt's house in Thanh Lam commune to visit.
That afternoon, H. and some relatives, including adults and children, went swimming at Trieu Duong Dam in Hamlet 5, Thanh Lam Commune. While swimming, H. drowned and did not survive. People recovered her body from the drowning site not long after.

It is known that H. has a very difficult family situation. H.'s father died in a traffic accident a few years ago, her mother went to work far away, and she is living with her grandparents.
According to Mr. Dang Quoc Bao - Secretary of Thanh Lam Commune Youth Union, during this hot weather, many people went to Trieu Duong Dam to swim, including many children. Although local youth and organizations have actively promoted drowning prevention and posted warning signs in dangerous areas, people are still subjective.
