| The entire An Hoa commune has 145 hectares of salt production area, concentrated in the villages of Hong Phong, Tan An, Nam Tien, and Tan Thinh. Salt production accounts for 50% of the total workforce in the commune and is a traditional occupation of the locality. |

| Currently, it is the peak season for salt production, and salt farmers are actively working in the fields, resulting in high salt yields. On average, the entire commune produces 19-20 thousand tons of salt annually. |

| Ms. Vu Thi Tinh from Tan Thang village said: "The sunny weather makes salt production quite easy. Each day I produce 150 kg of salt, earning over 150,000 VND. Since the start of the salt season (in 4 months), my family has earned over 6 million VND." |

| According to salt farmers, if the weather is sunny, they can produce an average of 150 kg of granular salt per day. With the current salt price of 1,000-1,200 VND/kg, each person earns 150,000 to 170,000 VND per day for two workers. For the people, although the price of salt is low, because it is a traditional occupation, they have to stick with it. Furthermore, production costs are minimal, so everyone is actively working in the salt fields. |

| Mr. Tam, a salt trader from Dien Chau district who buys salt in Quynh Luu, said: "It's the peak season, so the amount of salt produced by the locals is much higher. Every day, Mr. Tam buys about 200-300 kg of salt from the people, which he then sells retail in mountainous districts like Thanh Chuong and Nghia Dan... at a price of 2,000-3,000 VND/kg." |

| Salt production is a traditional occupation in coastal communes such as Quynh Thuan, Quynh Minh, An Hoa, and Quynh Tho. In recent years, although salt production remains high, the price of salt has been low, leading to the abandonment of many salt-producing areas. The majority of salt producers are now elderly people and children, while younger generations have gone to work elsewhere. With low salt prices and reduced salt production, the local authorities are encouraging people to continue salt production. At the same time, they are directing the Luu Quang Cooperative to collect all the salt produced by the farmers so that they can continue production with peace of mind. |

| The entire Quynh Luu district has 589 hectares of salt production area, with an annual salt output of 67 to 68 thousand tons. Currently, there are about 30 establishments in Quynh Luu district providing salt purchasing services directly from farmers' fields. In addition, many salt-producing cooperatives in the area have taken on the responsibility of guaranteeing the purchase of the farmers' products. This provides the conditions and motivation for farmers to confidently continue production and cling to the traditional salt-making profession of the locality. |
