Dien Chau: 50 hectares of rice seedlings were sown at the wrong time

(Baonghean.vn) -Although according to the calendar in Dien Chau, the earliest time to start sowing spring rice is January 11, but up to now, there have been up to 50 hectares of rice sown out of schedule.

Farmers in Dien Thang, Dien Minh, Dien Binh, and Dien Cat communes sowed rice seedlings nearly a week ago, and these communes have sown nearly 50% of the area.

Sowing rice too early and not following the crop calendar will affect the yield and quality of rice. Faced with this situation, the leaders of Dien Chau district have inspected and directed communes and cooperatives, determined not to let farmers continue to sow rice early.

In the 2016 spring crop, Dien Chau planted 9,000 hectares of spring rice and needed to plant 300 hectares of seedlings.
