Dien Chau: Two forest fires occurred in two days

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 13 and 14, two forest fires occurred in Dien Chau district in Dien Phu and Dien Doai communes. Dien Chau district promptly mobilized forces to control the fires.

At around 10am on June 14, a fire broke out in 3ha of pine forest at Hon Dung Mountain in Hamlet 14, Dien Doai Commune. The district mobilized 400 people including police, military, station 152, mobile militia from the northern communes and people of Dien Doai Commune. By around 1pm, the fire was under control.

At around 10:00 a.m. on June 14, in hamlet 14, Dien Doai commune, a fire broke out in 3 hectares of pine forest on Hon Dung mountain.

Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. on June 13, a forest fire broke out in the pine forest of Than Vu mountain, in hamlets 1,2,3, Dien Phu commune, covering an area of ​​nearly 10 hectares. Immediately after receiving the information, Dien Chau district mobilized the mobile militia of 15 southern communes, the police, military, Dien Thanh Border Guard Station, and about 500 people from Dien Phu commune, to immediately use fire-fighting equipment in a timely manner during the night.

Despite the hot weather and strong southwest winds, the firefighting efforts were very difficult. However, the forces deployed many measures, divided into many groups, used fire extinguishers, cleared trees along the trenches... By 3:30 a.m. on June 14, the fire was under control.
