Disaster prevention and rescue drill at Nghe An's largest fishing port

(Baonghean.vn) - At Cua Hoi Fishing Port (Cua Lo town), a disaster prevention and rescue drill in 2017 has just taken place.

On August 25, Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board chaired and coordinated with relevant agencies to organize a drill with three main contents: Training and practicing operating mechanisms; training and practicing real-life drills for local forces to coordinate propaganda and force fishing boats to leave the port to safe storm shelters; training and practicing rescue of fishing boats and fishermen.

This exercise aims to improve the command and coordination capacity in performing natural disaster prevention tasks between fishing ports and units stationed in the area; at the same time, improve the on-site situation handling capacity of fishing port officers and employees and organizations and individuals operating in fishing ports.

Also through the drill to raise awareness for fishermen, boat owners, organizations and individuals operating in fishing ports to fully understand the task of responding to and effectively preventing emergency situations in flood and storm prevention, search and rescue on rivers and at sea. At the same time, effectively promote the coordination of forces and means of units stationed in the area, as a basis for applying effectively into practice the annual flood and storm prevention, search and rescue work.

Cua Hoi fishing port is the largest fishing port in Nghe An province. Organizing a disaster prevention and rescue drill is very important not only for coastal fishermen, local authorities and relevant agencies but also for other fishing ports in Nghe An province./.
