This is one of five historical and cultural relics that have been classified as national-level relics since 1990 in Lang Do village (Hung Dung ward, Vinh City).

Dinh Trung is located in the center.Hung Dung wardBuilt in the year of the Rat (1843), the temple was initially thatched with straw. Eighty-five years later, in 1982, it was upgraded and re-tiled with yin-yang tiles. While not grand or magnificent, the temple stands sturdy and imposing, with many intricately carved columns, rafters, and trusses, all made of ironwood.

The communal house is the central venue for village festivals and ceremonies, and it has witnessed historical events that took place in the lives of the people of Yen Dung Thuong in the past and Hung Dung today.

In the movementSoviet Nghe TinhIn 1930-1931, Dinh Trung was the site of revolutionary activities by our people. Most notably, on April 27, 1930, the first red flag with the hammer and sickle was hoisted in the Dinh area. This demonstrates that the Communist Party was present there at that time and was leading the people in the Revolution.

The Party cell mobilized more than 1,200 people from Yen Village to gather at Trung Temple to participate in a demonstration on May 1, 1930, against high taxes and levies. In September 1930, also at Trung Temple, the people of Yen Village forced the village headman and local officials to hand over their seals and records to the village.

The organizers of the rally declared the abolition of the old government and the establishment of the first Soviet worker-peasant government. This Soviet government was then called "Bat Huong," meaning eight villages, and was led by a Party branch. The headquarters of the Soviet government was also located in Dinh Trung, and its tasks included distributing land to the poor, organizing the dissemination of the national script, and managing all activities in the village.

Although the Soviet regime did not last long, its historical significance as a "pioneer in rising up" was immense. After the Soviet regime was suppressed, Dinh Trung remained a site for many demonstrations by the people demanding their legitimate rights for the community.

On August 17, 1945, Dinh Trung witnessed the Viet Minh leading the people of Yen village in an uprising to seize power, and the new government still chose Dinh Trung as its headquarters. In April 1946, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee organized a training course for Party cadres in Dinh Trung. Notably, in November 1946, Dinh Trung had the honor of being chosen as the venue for the 4th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, with 45 official delegates.

The congress was attended by comrades Ho Tung Mau, Hoang Quoc Viet, and Mr. Huynh Thuc Khang. Simultaneously with these events, Dinh Trung was also considered the first school of Yen village. After the successful August Revolution, following the call of President Ho Chi Minh, the temple became a place of learning to "eradicate illiteracy." Throughout various revolutionary periods, Dinh Trung also served as a gathering place to bid farewell to generations of local youth who went to defend the Fatherland.

To preserve and educate present and future generations, the Party Committee and people of Hung Dung ward have built a traditional house next to the temple and are gradually developing this area into a cultural site and a cluster of historical relics in the Red Village of Vinh City.
