Dinh Xuan Tien of Song Lam Nghe An Club is the vice captain of U23 Vietnam.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan has chosen goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan to captain the Vietnam U23 team at the Southeast Asian U23 tournament. The four vice-captains include: Khuat Van Khang, Luong Duy Cuong, Nguyen Quoc Viet and Dinh Xuan Tien.

These are the people who will play the role of connecting the coaching staff and the players in daily activities at the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, together increasing interaction, sharing, and exchange to create a united and strong Vietnam U23 team.

Previously, in an interview after the training session on August 17, midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien also shared his feelings as well as the whole team's feelings towards the opening match of the U23 Southeast Asia tournament: "The whole team's spirit is currently very excited and always ready to enter the tournament. This is the second time I have participated in the U23 Southeast Asia Championship. My personal goal and the whole team's goal is to successfully defend the championship."

When asked about the difficulty in integrating with teammates due to having to join the team late, Dinh Xuan Tien said: “Compared to the others, I joined the team later. However, I was lucky to have worked with coach Hoang Anh Tuan in the past. Therefore, I still integrated well with my teammates. Coach Tuan always told us to focus and play our best.”

Dinh Xuan Tien also revealed more about the preparations of U23 Vietnam for the upcoming two matches against U23 Philippines and U23 Laos. "The coaching staff has made tactical analysis of the two opponents and the whole team will try to play according to the proposed tactics."

Dinh Xuan Tien is a midfielder born in 2003 - one of the few U23 Vietnam players who regularly play in the V-League. According to Dinh Xuan Tien, playing in the V-League is a valuable experience for young players.

"I hope that I and some other players can use that experience to compete well in this tournament," Dinh Xuan Tien said./.
