Australia-Vietnam charity group provides free medical examination and treatment to 2,500 people
(Baonghean.vn) - With the goal of bringing health, hope and smiles to children, on the morning of August 1, an Australian-Vietnamese charity group consisting of 34 Australian doctors, dentists and medical experts came to Nghi Thuan commune (Nghi Loc) to provide free medical examination and treatment to the people in the commune.

During the 3 days from August 1 to 3, about 2,500 people in the commune will receive free medical examination and treatment, of which 1,097 will receive general examinations, 50 cataract surgeries, and 1,400 dental examinations. Along with medical examinations and free medicine, the delegation will also give away 150 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to poor and disadvantaged households in the commune and 1,500 gifts to school children, including school supplies, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. The total cost of this activity is 100,000 Australian dollars. This amount is generously contributed by the Australian and Vietnamese communities in Australia. Medicines and medical equipment are also sponsored by Australian companies.
