Doan Van Hau is not on the list of U19 Vietnam team participating in the Asian tournament.

To prepare for the 2018 U19 Asian qualifiers, coach Hoang Anh Tuan has officially finalized the list of players for the Vietnam U19 team. Notably, the best young player in Southeast Asia, Doan Van Hau, is not on the list.

Van Hau (born 1999) is considered a talented young defender, who is reaping success with many awards and records such as 4 months playing for 4 different national teams. A few days ago, Van Hau also received the award for the best young player in Southeast Asia 2017, at a gala ceremony in Indonesia.

Van Hau is in the U19 Vietnam squad preparing for the Asian qualifiers.

The reason for not calling Van Hau, although not stated by coach Hoang Anh Tuan, is most likely because Hanoi FC did not release the player. U19 Vietnam focused on playing the tournament at the same time that Hanoi FC of Doan Van Hau entered the final stage of the championship race. Therefore, the capital team needs the services of this young talent. In particular, Doan Van Hau was also just called by coach Mai Duc Chung to the national team to play the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers against the Cambodian team.

Without Doan Van Hau, the U19 Vietnam team this time still gathers outstanding individuals who just joined the U18 Vietnam team at the 2017 Southeast Asian U18 tournament such as Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Thai Ba Sang, Tran Bao Toan, Tran Van Cong, Le Xuan Tu and Nguyen Khac Khiem. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan also tested 9 new faces, evenly divided into three lines for the U19 Vietnam team.

Today (October 2), the Vietnam U19 team gathered in Hanoi. The team has one month to prepare before traveling to Chinese Taipei to participate in matches in Group H, the 2018 AFC U19 Championship qualifiers. Here, Vietnam U19 will meet Macau (China), Chinese Taipei and Laos on November 4, 6 and 8, respectively.
