U19 Vietnam must beat Laos, creating a stepping stone for the U20 Asian qualifiers
On the afternoon of July 23, the Vietnam U19 team continued to practice at the Gelora Bung Tomo auxiliary field to prepare for the final match of the group stage at the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship.
Although there is no chance to continue, the whole team still maintains their spirit and discipline, encouraging each other to prepare well to win, thereby also creating a stepping stone towards the 2025 AFC U20 Qualifiers.

Before going to the training ground, the Vietnam U19 team had a professional meeting to learn from the mistakes that were revealed in the recent loss to Australia U19, and at the same time, analyze the playing style of Laos U19 through the match recording. At the meeting, coach Hua Hien Vinh continued to remind his players to focus on the match, especially not to give up in any situation.

Even when there is no chance of advancing, the whole team still has to enter the field with the spirit of victory and with responsibility, pride and honor when wearing the national team jersey. Besides, having a good result in the final match will also create a better mentality for the whole team to aim for a more important goal, which is the 2025 AFC U20 Qualifiers.

In this afternoon's training session, the players tried their best to complete the requirements of the coaching staff. Without the need for further reminders from the coaching staff, the players themselves advised, encouraged and corrected each other in each situation. Each time the strikers failed to shoot, their teammates reminded them to take advantage of the opportunity to score. It can be seen that the students of coach Hua Hien Vinh are putting all their efforts into the farewell match of the U19 Southeast Asian Championship.

In an interview before the training session, midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu said that recently, the coaching staff has always reminded the whole team to enter the field with a winning spirit. "Although there is no hope of advancing, coach Vinh always reminds the players to try their best, to win as a stepping stone for the most important goal, the 2025 AFC U20 Qualifiers," Long Vu said.
As one of the most anticipated faces in the U19 Vietnam squad and also the U19 Vietnam player who received the highest rating from the head coach of U19 Australia, midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu said he was not satisfied with his performance.

After 2 matches, Long Vu still has not shown his usual sharpness in attacking the goal. "I am also not satisfied with myself, after 2 matches I still have not scored any goals. I will have to try harder in the match against U19 Laos, have to take advantage of better opportunities to help the team win", Long Vu expressed.
Long Vu believes that the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 tournament is very meaningful to him as well as his teammates. “We are all young players so we still have a lot to learn. I myself and everyone else need to try harder to not disappoint the fans and be more confident to aim for the upcoming Asian U20 Qualifiers,” Long Vu emphasized./.
