Demand for jobs is high

Previously, Ms. Hong worked for an electronic components manufacturing company in Binh Duong. However, in the past 2 years, after the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of orders for the company has decreased sharply, causing Ms. Hong's income to become unstable. From 15 million VND/month, it is now only 8-9 million VND/month, no more overtime. Therefore, after Tet, she is determined to stay in her hometown to find a job.

Ms. Hong shared: “My two friends from the same hometown and I agreed not to return to Binh Duong to work anymore but to look for jobs in our hometown. With about 9 million VND/month, it is really impossible to survive away from home. Returning to Nghe An, if the income is from 5-7 million VND/month, not including overtime, even though it is lower, but we can live close to home, the cost of living is lower... there is no reason to return to the old company.”

Not only Ms. Hong but also hundreds of workers in Nghe An after Tet holiday. According to data from Nghe An Employment Service Center, after Tet holiday, the number of workers coming to report their employment status and needing job advice at the center increased, with an average of more than 900 cases per day, including at other facilities in Anh Son, Dien Chau districts and Thai Hoa town.

“The number of workers coming to report job search at the beginning of the year increased because in 2023, the economy was in recession, many businesses and units went bankrupt, and cut staff. Therefore, many workers in Nghe An returned to their hometowns during the past time to celebrate Tet and look for new opportunities at home. Every day, the unit continuously consults and introduces new job positions to workers,” added the leader of Nghe An Employment Service Center.

Large number of recruiting businesses

Although the number of job seekers is increasing, however, job opportunities in Nghe An in 2024 are very open. Data from Nghe An Employment Service Center shows that as of February 24, 2024, there were 116 businesses and units in need.recruitmentContact the center with about 30,000 workers. The recruiting businesses are in many different fields such as: garment, leather shoe manufacturing, steel manufacturing, electronic components, mechanics...

Among them, there are enterprises that need a large number of workers such as Cypress Vietnam Shoes Company Limited, which produces leather shoes in WHA Nghi Thuan Industrial Park, Nghi Loc, needs to recruit 2,040 workers, with a salary of 7.2 - 8.3 million VND/month; Andromeda Shoes Company Limited in Hoang Mai 1 Industrial Park, Hoang Mai Town, Nghe An needs to recruit 1,130 workers.

Mr. Tran Huu Thuong - Deputy Director of Nghe An Employment Service Center said: For current employees, the key factors for work are salary and benefits, so units need to carefully calculate these two factors to make recruitment announcements. For employees, it is necessary to grasp the requirements of employers, in which some units require foreign language proficiency and high technical skills, so they must proactively learn and gain experience to meet the recruitment criteria.

“Since the Lunar New Year, the unit has found and connected jobs for more than 300 people. In addition to workers working in factories, the company also has workers doing other common jobs such as housework, taking care of the sick, security guards…”, Mr. Tran Huu Thuong added.

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in 2023, the whole province will create new jobs for over 45,000 people (104.65% of the plan), of which about 24,000 people will be sent to work abroad under contracts (165.5% of the plan), making it the leading province nationwide in the number of workers going to work abroad under contracts.
