Nghe An entrepreneurs and businesses promote their role as "pillars" and pioneers in major matters

Leading by example, pioneering great things

Established in 1997, the Party Committee of Nghe An Sugarcane Company Limited (NASU) was initially a Party cell with 9 Party members operating in a foreign-invested company with nearly 60 experts working. After the development process, NASU is now a member of TH Group, Vietnamese people have basically replaced foreign experts.

Production and business development, in 2023 the company's revenue will be 1,400 billion VND; tax payment will be 77 billion VND; In 2024, revenue will reach 1,500 billion VND, tax payment will be 35 billion VND, expected to pay nearly 80 billion VND this year. The company currently ensures jobs for 360 workers; in particular, creates livelihoods for nearly 17,000 farming households in the Northwest of Nghe An and more than 300 sugarcane drivers with payment of nearly 1,000 billion VND/year. Every year, it always maintains about 2 billion VND in social security.

Identifying the importance of digital transformation, entrepreneurs and businesses in the province have improved their business management skills, boldly invested in technological, scientific and technical innovation, and implemented new production and business projects. Entrepreneurs and businesses have actively contributed to growth, economic restructuring, created millions of jobs, attracted hundreds of thousands of workers, and contributed greatly to the province's budget revenue. Thanks to that, the province's socio-economic situation continues to recover positively; Nghe An's economic growth rate is currently ranked 26th among provinces nationwide; ranked 3rd in the North Central region, and among the top 10 localities attracting the largest FDI investment in the country.

VNPT Nghe An is at the forefront of digital transformation. With the view that infrastructure must be one step ahead and digital infrastructure is the key issue, an important foundation for building digital government, digital economy, digital society, VNPT Nghe An has focused resources on prioritizing key areas to promote investment in developing digital infrastructure in the province. Currently, VNPT's broadband mobile information network and fixed broadband fiber optic access have covered 460 communes, wards and towns across the province, mobile services have reached 100% of residential areas, 98% of the area... providing high-speed Mobile data (minimum 36 Mbps). Ms. Ho Thi Thuy Trang - Director of VNPT Nghe An said: The capacity of telecommunications - information technology infrastructure of VNPT Nghe An ensures readiness for the province's digital transformation down to the village and hamlet level, ensuring that every household has a fiber optic network, every person can use smart devices anywhere. In the coming time, VNPT Nghe An will continue to accompany the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Information and Communications and functional agencies to implement tasks in the field of digital transformation to improve the ranking of the provincial digital transformation index as well as improve the ranking of the index of direction, operation and assessment of service quality for people and businesses in performing administrative procedures and public services.

Along with production and business, many enterprises and businessmen have implemented good business ethics, paid attention to building corporate culture, and taken the lead in implementing social security work with hundreds of billions of VND each year. In the context of recent difficulties, Nghe An businessmen still promoted their mettle, focused on building business strategies and proposing measures to overcome difficulties, creating stable jobs for workers. In particular, it is necessary to mention Hoa Hiep Company Limited. Over the past decades, the "ship" Hoa Hiep, "steered" by businessman Pham Dinh Hanh, has always had steady development, and is considered a strong unit not only in Nghe An but also nationwide with the construction of many large and technically complex traffic and irrigation works. Hoa Hiep Company Limited, together with its partners, constructed many important works such as the North-South Expressway, WHA Industrial Park, Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard... In the first 9 months of 2024, the company achieved revenue of more than 1,665 billion VND, paid 34,673 billion VND to the State budget, and created jobs for more than 650 workers.

Promoting the role of "pillar"

During the development process, the business community has always received the support of provincial leaders, Party committees and authorities. Mr. Pham Dinh Hanh - Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Hiep Company Limited, Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, Chairman of the Provincial Veteran Business Association said that in recent times, provincial leaders, departments, branches and localities have paid great attention to the business community and businesses. This is an important spiritual support to help the business community be confident, develop the business comprehensively, and achieve high efficiency in production and business activities. Nghe An currently has 29,000 registered enterprises operating in the province, with a total registered capital of about 194 trillion VND, but in reality, the number of enterprises operating in the province is only about 14,000 enterprises, with a workforce of about 31,000 workers; ranking 9th out of 63 provinces and cities. Although the number of enterprises compared to the whole country is quite high, nearly 98% of them are small and micro enterprises, with modest scale of operation, no large enterprises, no big brands.

Enterprises and entrepreneurs are considered representatives of the new production power of the socialist-oriented market economy, making significant contributions to the country's overall development achievements. On October 10, 2023, on behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong signed and issued Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period. On August 21, 2024, the People's Committee of Nghe An province developed a plan to implement Resolution No. 41, in which the goal is to strive for about 58,000 - 59,000 registered enterprises by 2030; with a vision to 2045, there will be about 73,000 - 74,000 registered enterprises. Developing a team of entrepreneurs in the province with the scale, capacity and qualifications to meet development goals, with position and prestige; Some businesses participating in the global supply chain and value chain is an issue today.
