Revenue of enterprises in Nghe An Southeast Economic Zone in 2017 reached over 22,083 billion VND

(Baonghean.vn) - Up to now, the total number of projects attracted to the Southeast Economic Zone and Nghe An province's industrial parks has attracted 199 projects. Of which: 34 FDI projects with a total registered investment capital of 1.507 billion USD and 167 domestic projects with a total registered investment capital of 38,685.24 billion VND.

Currently, 97 projects have been put into operation. Industrial production value reached 16,325.01 billion VND, up 42.03% over the same period in 2016. Revenue reached 22,083.26 billion VND, up 58.0% over the same period in 2016. Jobs were created for 18,218 workers, up 865 workers over the same period in 2016.

» Dynamic projects in the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone

In 2017 alone, the Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks newly issued Investment Registration Certificates for 26 projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 5,364.57 billion, of which 04 newly issued FDI projects with a registered investment capital of USD 134.06 million. Five projects were adjusted with an increased adjusted capital of VND 841.56 billion.

Some newly licensed large projects include: WHA Hemaraj 1 Nghe An Industrial Park Investment Project, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 681/QD-TTg dated May 22, 2017 (VND 2,056 billion); MDF fiberboard factory (VND 1,754.14 billion); Housing Container factory of TKV Group of Korea (VND 825.74 billion); Auto parts manufacturing factory of Nogoya Giken Company of Japan, Becker paint factory of Becker Company of Sweden, etc.

The Economic Zone also supported the investment licensing procedures for the project of the Eco-tourism and Entertainment Complex in Nghi Tien Commune, Nghi Loc District (VND10,500 billion) of FLC Group; Quynh Lap II Thermal Power Plant of the Korean Posco Group (USD2.5 billion); the Industrial Park, Urban and Service Infrastructure Investment Project of the Phuc Loc Group (VND3,900 billion); Hoang Mai 2 Industrial Park of the Korean Kovinet Group (VND1,500 billion)...

In 2017, the Economic Zone continued to implement the General Planning for the Southeast Economic Zone approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1534/QD-TTg dated October 21, 2008;

Zoning planning for industrial park construction: Completion of detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/500 of WHA Hemaraj 1 Nghe An Industrial Park (148 ha) approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3309/QD-UBND dated July 24, 2017;

Adjustment of detailed construction planning at scale 1/2000 of VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, Urban Area and Services approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 5682/QD-UBND dated November 23, 2017;

Completed the project of planning the construction of Cua Lo international seaport cluster, is submitting to the Ministry of Transport for appraisal and approval.

At the same time, introduce locations, grant planning licenses, appraise planning, adjust detailed planning, and master plan for 95 investment project dossiers in the Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks.

Infrastructure of Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks has been and is being invested synchronously, gradually meeting the requirements of investors. Based on the assigned functions, in recent times, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue many documents and decisions related to investment attraction, incentives and management of investment attraction projects in the economic zone as well as removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses.

At the conference, representatives of enterprises operating in the Southeast Economic Zone spoke and recommended that the relevant agencies and the Economic Zone Management Board continue to resolve difficulties and problems. These include land acquisition, stabilizing the power grid, drainage for industrial zones, and issuing certificates of origin for export businesses.

At the conference, representatives of the participating departments and branches explained and committed to coordinate to resolve the above issues as soon as possible.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the efforts of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board and the close cooperation of businesses and investors.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in the development strategy, Nghe An province determined to build the Southeast Economic Zone into a multi-industry, multi-functional economic zone, focusing on mechanical engineering, electronics, information technology, automobile manufacturing, high-tech equipment, pharmaceuticals, supporting industries, and agricultural, forestry and seafood processing.

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa also assigned specific tasks to the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, Departments and branches to coordinate more closely, actively support businesses to overcome difficulties so that operations become more convenient and effective.

On that basis, the Economic Zone Management Board continues to mobilize all resources to accelerate the progress of infrastructure construction (roads, electricity, wastewater, social housing, etc.) in the Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks in a synchronous and modern direction to meet the requirements of industrial development, high-tech industry and environmental protection. Thereby, promoting the attraction of enterprises to invest, creating momentum for the socio-economic development of the province, solving more jobs and income for workers.

On this occasion, 2 groups and 2 individuals of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in 2017.
