Captain Duy Manh believes Vietnam will win the ASEAN Cup 2024
Center back Do Duy Manh said the whole team has prepared well, and believes that the Vietnamese team will win the 2024 ASEAN Cup.
Captain Do Duy Manh had an interview with the media during the training session on December 7 of the Vietnamese team, preparing for the match against the Lao team (8:00 p.m., December 9). Duy Manh said he was honored to be chosen as captain of the "Golden Star Warriors" in the 2024 ASEAN Cup.
"The whole team had a meeting to elect the executive committee. Quang Hai, Tien Linh, and I are very honored to be trusted by the coaching staff and teammates. It is a great responsibility for us to demonstrate our abilities, connecting the coaching staff and the players. We will try our best to play well on the field to bring victory to Vietnamese football," he said.

"After the meeting, the executive committee invited the players to have coffee to strengthen solidarity within the team. This morning, the players practiced well after getting enough sleep to maintain their health, although we are still missing a few players."
After the success at the AFF Cup 2018, the Vietnamese team missed out on the championship in the next two tournaments. Duy Manh hopes that this time luck will return to him and his teammates, he said: "For me, spirituality is very important. It is also something for us to have faith. We hope that the AFF Cup 2024 will have coincidences like in 2018. In 2024, we will try to follow the path we did in 2018."

The Hanoi club's central defender said that the team's preparation this time emphasized the spirit of respecting the opponent's ability. Duy Manh shared: "The whole team met and coach Kim Sang Sik showed us the opponent's video to understand their playing style. Regional football is changing, and the Vietnamese team's opponents are getting stronger in the group stage. We have to maintain our focus and try to play well to achieve the results as set out."
Naturalized striker Xuan Son is attracting public attention, with expectations that he will bring his excellent scoring form at Nam Dinh club to the national team.

Duy Manh said about the new player of the Vietnam team: "I saw Xuan Son open up from the first day of training in Phu Tho. We felt the desire in Son. Son is trying every day to integrate as quickly as possible. All the players support Son the best so that he can be comfortable, play at his best and bring victory to Vietnamese football."
"Son is one of the top strikers, affirming his position as a top striker after 5 years playing in the V-League. Hopefully Son will be in the best physical condition, bring the best form to contribute to the Vietnam National Team in the upcoming tournament," Duy Manh concluded./.
