US President Donald Trump said he could have improved relations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, he said in remarks at a rally in Pennsylvania.

"In Helsinki, I had a great meeting with Vladimir Putin, we discussed everything… We really agreed together," the US leader said.

Meanwhile, commenting on the reaction in the US to the Helsinki summit, Mr Trump said he was expected to have a "boxing match" with his Russian counterpart.

The first full-scale talks between Trump and Putin took place on July 16 in Helsinki. After the meeting, the leaders expressed interest in improving relations between the two countries.

The next meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is scheduled for 2019. Within its framework, the US President hopes to discuss counterterrorism, Israel's security issues, nuclear non-proliferation, cyber attacks, economic cooperation, the Ukrainian issue, peace in the Middle East, North Korea and other topics.
